The objective of this course is to equip Indian energy professionals with a comprehensive understanding of European electricity market designs and mechanisms, enabling them to strategically adapt successful strategies for India's unique energy transition challenges, particularly in integrating renewable energy, ensuring grid stability through capacity and ancillary markets, and fostering innovation through emerging technologies. Course structure The course starts from basic introductory material and then aims to cover some of the major subjects of electricity markets in depth. Instructors will provide a lecture focusing on the key theoretical concepts complemented by real and current examples from the industry. Mentoring driven by women leaders Energy Dozen: Spotlighting Women Experts Powering India’s Energy Transition is a flagship initiative by FSR Global, developed in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union to India and, in its latest edition, joined by UN Women India with Finovista and MECS Program as special edition partners. The initiative is designed to spotlight inspiring women professionals who are shaping India’s energy future across policy, regulation, utilities, innovation, finance, sustainability, and clean cooking while creating meaningful learning and mentorship opportunities for the next generation. Through this course, mentees will gain direct access to the knowledge and lived experiences of women leaders who are actively working at the forefront of India’s energy and climate journey. The programme combines expert-led masterclasses, mentorship interactions, and dialogue-based learning.

 This course offers a concise introduction to the India Energy Stack (IES) — a transformative initiative building Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for India’s power sector. It explores how digital technologies can modernize electricity systems, enhance efficiency, and unlock innovation across the energy ecosystem.
